Through a series of conversations, we will get to know the government officials, business owners, community leaders, and artists who shape our society. It is not our intention to influence anyone. Instead, our goal is to inform. We’re going to do that by sitting down and having one-on-one conversations with people. Hopefully, when we’re finished, you’ll have a better understanding of who these folks are, where they come from, and what they envision for the future of our community.

Ray Black joins us for Episode 14 of Project 39. Ray is well-known in the community for his work at the Boys and Girls Club and as a wrestling coach. Unfortunately, he has had some serious medical issues and needed a double lung transplant last year. In this episode, Ray describes the process of getting on the transplant list and tells us about his donor, Doug. He also shares how this has affected his faith and his relationships with others. Lastly, Ray tells us about his efforts to give back by raising funds for Donate Life. Anyone wishing to contribute can send a check payable to Donate Life to Ray at 834 W. Welcome to Episode 10 of Project 39, in which we are joined by Mayor Bob Courtney. Bob is a native of Madison and is currently in his first term as mayor following a long career in the banking industry. We had a great conversation that re-capped the events and achievements of 2021, followed by a discussion of the issues the city faces going into 2022 and the Mayor's plans to address them.
